MRI - Questionable Scan? |
I asked a question earlier about an MRI scan where a doctor was called in to look at the scans while they were being taken. Some of the responses were saying that the scans could have been questionable scans. What does that mean? Sorry for asking so many questions, but I am a bit worried because I dont get the results back for another two days. Thanks It may just mean that the image was compromised due to movement or something minor like that, and needed to see if the doc could interpret the image or if they needed to do it over. Or perhaps they just wanted the doc to monitor to make sure they were getting good quality images right off the bat. means there's something wrong with the scan not necessarily you. you may have moved or there could have been interference with the scan. hope this helps. "Questionable" means that there may have been a question in the technician's mind about something that was seen in the images. And a doctor was called in for clarification, to confirm or deny. It doesn't necessarily mean bad news for you. Try not to worry. Easier said than done, I know, but try to put it out of your mind until you meet with your doctor to review the report. Have had an MRI with the same experiance, let them worry about the results! Like others have said, you may have moved during the scan, something may have happened during the scan that you, or they, couldn't control! DO NOT WORRY YOURSELF! Unfortunately for me, they had to do the scan over(I hated it the first time!), but at least it gave me a little piece of mind. MRI is one of the most high tech diagnostic tool nowadays, but it isn't perfect. Which mean we can't rely 100% on it to make a diagnosis. We must correlate it with the clinical sign and also the symptoms of your complaints. Don't worry, when there is something which is doubtful, or not clear, or may be the radiographer is not experience enough or the machine is doing error....etc... thousands of possibilities besides problem of your body. So, stay happy and wait for the result. |
