Which drug is safer MDMA (ecstasy) or alcohol.?

Does E cause any proven long term health damage I wonder, and are they worse than the long term damage caused to the liver etc by booze?

And this question assumes that the MDMA would be pure pharmaceutical grade (I realise stuff bought illegally on the street is far from it).

There is no licenced use of MDMA in the UK - so no pharmaceutical grade. The difference is that the effects of alcohol are incidious and predictable, also there is a level of consumption where it is considered safe - some say even beneficial to health. MDMA on the other hand is unpredictable - the first time you know you have a sensitivity to it may be the time it kills you. True - many people use it with no apparent ill effects - but it's still a lottery.

Well, let's see. Alcohol is basically a general anesthetic which used in small amounts causes mild euphoria and with increasing amounts causes depression and finally unconsciousness. Taken to extreme excess, alcohol can kill you by alcohol poisoning.

On the other hand, one dose of MDMA can cause an immediate life-threatening hyperpyrexia(high fever) which can be fatal in the short term.

Which one would you pick?

Ecstacy can cause a number of serious side effects including death fro overdose.

You can never be sure about ecstacy that you buy. It is often laced with other substances that can kill you.
