Asperger Victims: Have you ever tried MDMA?

To all Aspies out there. I have aspergers too and have recently learned that the drug MDMA (street name "ecstacy") may be beneficial to autistics because it enhances empathy and the ability to understand other people's body language better.

I was wondering if any aspies out there have tried MDMA and what did it do for you?

I was diagnosed over a year ago and it took me a good month after that to accept it. AS has robbed me of being able to live and be like a normal person. That makes me a victim of its thievery.

You are absolutely NOT a victim. You're exactly the same person as you were before you were diagnosed, you just have another label now. Nothing has changed, you're still you. Keep thinking of yourself as a victim and you'll BE a victim.

And I'd be careful with MDMA. A lot of people on the spectrum also have unbalanced brain chemical levels, especially serotonin - depression is comorbid with something like 70% of those on the spectrum. MDMA affects those chemicals and could have nasty side effects.

As a person who is dealing with this thing called AS, I can honestly tell you MDMA is NOT a viable option.

Yeah , just wondering... were you normal b4 you were diagnosed with aspergers? What really changed to make you feel like you were robbed of a normal life?. Chances are, if you really had asperger's you would've had some inclination of it. I think you might be off in your diagnosis

First, Aspies are NOT victims! Stop thinking of yourself as a victim. That's the first step toward dealing realistically with our disorder.

As for "X", some Aspies also have ADHD, and that is why I think "X" and other amphetamine-like stimulants seem to make them feel more in control sometimes. But it isn't worth it, as there are serious side effects, and you never know what dose you are getting.

u should look into vitamin supplements there is a lot of research that suggest that it is a better and safer route to go then drugs or even the so called prescription meds out there. These supliments are geared for aspies and people with adhd, and have been proven to work

If U R saying is indeed true,I would if U could, but I'm unemployed U C,so not as long as I'm looking for work! But I'll let U know if and when I try it out.

Probably not a good idea. I've heard some horror stories about it.

I've replaced all prescriptions with supplements. I am curious about Risperdal though.

I'll agree with the victim statement. Most people don't realize that autism disorders involve biological health problems too. I never consented to poisoning, internal organ damage, celiac disease, liver problems, etc. Of course I still have a cynical view of the general population...
