With un diagnosed lymphoma (not yet being treated) do the swollen lymph nodes stay swollen consistently or do they come and go??? they come and go , some will stay. it all depends on the type of lymphoma you have Hodgkin鈥檚 lymphoma, also known as Hodgkin鈥檚 disease, is a type of lymphoma, or cancer of the lymphoid tissue. Lymphoid tissue is part of the lymphatic system, a major component of the immune defense system. It consists of a network of organs, bone marrow, lymph nodes and vessels. This system manufactures and transports lymph (fluid made of plasma and white blood cells) from tissues to the bloodstream. The first and sometimes only symptom of lymphoma is a painless, rubbery feeling swollen lymph node that doesnt move and increases in size slowly over several months. In almost all cases, swollen lymph nodes caused by a malignancy do not "come and go". My sis had a lymphoma too and she had to have the lump removed via surgery. However, no need to worry cos this is the easiest cancer to treat. My sis is now a happy 15 yr old with a better life than she used to have even before she got ill as she realised how lucky she was and that life's for living cos you never know what could happen the next day... If it is an aggressive lymphoma, then it doesnt shrink on its own. Indolent lymphomas, which are less aggressive, can fluctuate in size by themselves. |
