Does lactic acid cause lymphedema? |
the lymphatic system picks up wastes and stuff and can be overloaded so does lactic acid cause lymphedema (inflammation of the lymph nodes)? Not in someone who has a normally functioning lymphatic system. For someone with a predisposition to lymphedema (either due to lymph node removal, or genetic predisposition), it certainly could. Generally speaking, overuse of the affected extremity could trigger the onset of lymphedema as well as sunburns, mosquito bites, travelling in an airplane, scratches, etc...anything that would put the lymphatic system under greater stress. |
