Is there any treatment for Lymphedema?

It may be of any medical science like alopathic, ayurvedic, homeopathic, magnetic, devotional healings, accupressure, sujok etc.

First off you have to be sure you have true lymphedema. Several conditions can mimic lymphedema swelling such as swelling from organ problems, diabetes, vein problems, etc. Your doctor would rule those out with blood work and possibly a veinogram. Next, if it came on all of a sudden, they would rule out infection and cellulitis which is a staph type infection in the tissues.

Lymphedema can be primary or secondary. Primary is also called congenital and you are born with it. Secondary is from another cause such as surgery with nodes removed, trauma, etc.

Lymphedema is treated with complete/complex decongestive therapy which should be performed only by a certified lymphedema therapist. It consists of manual lymph drainage, compression, skin care, and specific exercises to promote lymph flow in the affected areas. The manual lymph drainage is a type of bodywork similiar to a medical massage, and it feels like a massage. Your therapist should work head to toe, not just on the affected area.

Not all primary lymphedema is congenital (from birth). See lymphedema praecox-meige and lymphedema tarda. Not all infections or celluitis caused by staph. NO alternative methods clinically proven to work . Lymphedema People http://www.lymphedemapeople.co... Report It

It all depends on what is causing the lymphedema. But to my knowledge the best treatment is manual lymphatic drainage which is usually done by a skilled physical or occupational therapist at a hospital or clinic.

Medical treatment of lymphedema depends on the cause, you need to see a physician.
