Swollen lymph nodes in armpits?

For the past couple of weeks the lymph nodes in each of my armpits have alternately been swollen. Like one week there will be one node in my left armpit swollen and none in the right, or vice versa. Currently I'm at 2 in my left armpit (actually closest to my breast) and jeez about 10 in my right armpit swelled up. They're all painful and about the size of a dime, but most painful on the left side to the point it hurts all the way into my breast muscle and to extend my arm. But, it's only lymph nodes and I don't want to rush to the doctor over something so small, but it hurts! Any ideas on what could be the problem?

My understanding is that lymph nodes swell to fight off infection- so you must have an infection somewhere in your body. If you don't know what it is, you should probably go to the doctor to find out. Internal infections can be very dangerous if left untreated.

you probably have a virus or something so they white blood cells are staying in ur lymph nodes to fight the "invaders"

I've had that happen before about twice. It goes away. Your body is fighting off some virus in it.

Better safe than sorry. Swollen lymph nodes in the arm pits should be checked out by a doctor.

GREETINGS, you should see the doctor. The axilla nodes under the arms are major ones, if those are swollen and nothing else it could mean you have an infection in your breast or something else going on, when was your last gyno exam? You do need to see the dr.
