Lyme disease symptoms?

i got a mosquito bite and it looked normal at first but it started to get bigger and bigger, it was the biggest mosquito bite i've ever seen, it was red and round and itched like crazy. the bump has gone away now and it sort of looks like a bruise, i have been getting headaches the past few days too. my 'rash' is not bulls-eye like they say the classic lyme rash is, it just looks like a bruise (but i know i didnt get hit there, it doesnt hurt to touch) mosquitos carry lyme now dont they? does this sound like lyme disease?

Typically, Lyme is spread by ticks, though there is some thought that mosquitoes might play a role. That said, there are any number of insect-borne diseases that might contribute to your symptoms. Worth getting checked out.

I think it's the ticks that carry lyme disease. Mosquitos carry west nile virus and several other diseases.

Symptoms of West Nile Fever
It is estimated that about 20% of people who become infected with WNV will develop West Nile fever. Symptoms include fever, headache, tiredness, and body aches, occasionally with a skin rash (on the trunk of the body) and swollen lymph glands. While the illness can be as short as a few days, even healthy people have reported being sick for several weeks.

Lyme Disease
Typical symptoms include fever, headache, fatigue, and a characteristic skin rash called erythema migrans. If left untreated, infection can spread to joints, the heart, and the nervous system. Lyme disease is diagnosed based on symptoms, physical findings (e.g., rash), and the possibility of exposure to infected ticks; laboratory testing is helpful in the later stages of disease. Most cases of Lyme disease can be treated successfully with a few weeks of antibiotics.

it might not be a misquito bite...

Lyme disease is caused by the spirochete Borrelia burgdorferi transmitted to humans by tick bite not by mosquitos. Its incubation period is 14-23 days before the symptoms came out. In its early form, a rash is often present and may be accompanied by regional lymphadenopathy. The rash frequently associated by Lyme's disease, known as erythema migrans,is often described as having an expanding bull's eye appearance. It may be confused by a spider bite. The diagnosis may be made when a patient has typical rash and a late manifestation(eg. arthritis, bell's palsy, meningitis, carditis) along with laboratory confirmation of infection.
