Anyone have any experience with Lyme disease?

A couple months ago I was diagnosed with Lyme disease, and I was given doxycycline to take for a month and a half. The last test came back negative, but my doctor never even called for a follow-up. Another doctor (deals with a different field) told me I might want to get a second opinion. Could I still have it even if a test comes back negative? Also, this year I developed depression and anxiety and that is how I discovered I had Lyme disease because my doctor said Lyme can cause chemical imbalances, so I was tested. If the Lyme disease is gone, shouldn't the depression and anxiety be gone too?

I have never heard that lyme disease causes anxiety or depression. I have both and dont have lyme disease. I had it once after removing a tick off my back. I would see another doctor if I was you. Sound if someone is pulling your leg. Then again maybe not just I have anxiety and depression and I dont have it .

Lyme disease can cause a whole bunch of symptoms. Anxiety and panic disorders included.

I've never heard about the chemical imbalances but I do know people who have had lyme disease that years later still have problems with things like swollen joints, ankles wrists etc...So it definitely is a disease that once negative will always have lasting effects.
