I am 27 and have suddenly developed a chronic cough. It started with burning sensations in my lungs for one week, then i got a sore throat, now i have a chronic cough that has lasted one week which is getting worse everyday. My throat, now gives me this "dislocated" feeling by popping and clicking when i swallow. I have been exposed to second-hand smoke my entire life and I smoked for 10 years before i quit one year ago. Could this be a lung disease? at first, i thought it was a cold but nobody caught it around me and its only a cough and the cough is getting worse everyday. Its torcherous at night, I cough ever 3 to 5 seconds at night. I made an appointment with my general doctor for tomorrow morning, but should i get my lungs checked out? and by who a pulmonary specialist? Let's see what the doctor says first.
