Lung cancer???

what was the very first sign you had.. i sometimes.. well ever time i cough.. i cough up little ball of felm..kinda of yellow been doing this a year know .. my grandfather died of this .. i was 4 yrs old.. just wondering if it is the first sign

I've never had this...yet, at least hope I don't. I read somewhere before that the symptoms are a lot of hoarse throat, back pain (your lungs) and a lot of discomfort in your chest and back. Again, I don't know for sure.
