Cancer -lung after treatment , can the cancer that was treated for, move to the brain ?

my grandma had lung cancer ,she had surgery and succesfully nit seemed to work she also did some chemo therapy to . now she is feeling numbness in her chin . she is scared that the cancer copuld be moving up to hert brain . she went to her regular doctor ,who told her to she needs to go to her cancer doctor , but she is afraid . we the family told her that is proable normal to be sent to the cancer doctor diue to anything for awhile . my question to you is do you think it could be moving to her brain ? Cancer spreads. But there is hope in the alternative medicine area, if a person can think outside the box.

Five hundred years ago, people said the world was flat. Today, people say that if the FDA and AMA haven't blessed something, it can't be real good. Well, here's something I know to be real AND good. It's a little different take on cancer treatment--

In 1990, I had Hodgkin's Lymphoma, stage 3-B, but I've survived. My doctors were great people, but they were limited to surgery, chemo and radiation by profitable AMA treatment policy. Our bodies have 60 trillion--yes, trillion--cells, and there are always some mutating into cancer cells, but a healthy immune system kills them before they have a chance to get a foothold in the body.

It takes a LONG time, usually, or a high level of stressors, to weaken the immune system to the point where it won't do its job, but once cancer has formed, it will generally spread rapidly.

I know of people whose cancer has 'spontaneously remitted' (WENT AWAY for no known reason) AFTER they went on programs of herbs and nutrition to restart their immune systems.

Any type of cancer can metastasize or move to other organs. This is pretty common when dealing with later stage or very invasive or aggressive cancers.

The mother of a friend of mine recently passed away from brain cancer that had spread from an original finding of lung cancer, so yes it is possible.

Your grandmother should absolutely see her oncologist because only he or she can tell her if what's going on is a side effect from the previous cancer treatment(s) or if it's something new that needs to be addressed. And she should seek medical attention from the specialist WITHOUT DELAY.

Most cancers start in a primary location (lung, colon, prostate..) then metastasis to another location in the body. For example, liver cancer is never a primary. If someone has liver cancer its the secondary site. Usually cancers move around in the body through the lymph system.

That is what happened to my sister, her primary was colon, but it wasn't discovered (dispite having screening tests) until it was in the lymph system. By then it was only a matter of time, the genie was out of the bottle.

hi Dee, I will pray for grandmother, as for her numbness, it usually has to do with a bad circulation, but she must see a the cancer doctor, he will probably just check it out and it's probably not something major, but have it checked, God will help, but we must help ourselves, not doing so is a sin, the cause of the numbness could be a simple thing, but it must be checked, a good food supplement I heard helps cancer treatment is "green's plus detox", look it up in a natural food store, God bless.

Metastasis is the movement or spreading of cancer cells from one organ or tissue to another. Cancer cells usually spread through the bloodstream or the lymph system. (MedlinePlus)

Numbness in the chin indicates that VII th cranial nerve might have been affected. Consult the doctor.

Cancer can metastacize to anywhere. But also chemo can sometimes cause permanent nerve damage (neuropathy). It usually doesn't happen, but it can happen...Or it could be something altogether different. Sometimes the oncologist likes to monitor you for quite a while afterwards just to keep an eye on you. I still see mine once in awhile and as far as I know my cancer is cured. (3 years ago). Tell her oncologists don't have cooties. (just kidding)

Most of the answers were correct. Lung cancer can certainly spread to the brain. It does not take an oncologist (cancer expert) to diagnose this-any physician can order a CT or MRI.

Please note one of the other answers is mildly incorrect-cancer most definitely can start in the liver itself, though that is also a common site of spread.

Yes, it does metastasize . I will pray for you and your granny. My dad died from lung cancer.
