Lung cancer runs in my family ??? |
My mother was adopted ,,she`s been dead now 10 years and I have done genealogy work and found out about her family. I found that she had 7 siblings and so far I have found that at least 3 died from lung cancer & my Mother died from bone cancer and her mother died from stomach cancer that spread to the brain.. What does this mean for my health ?.. I have been diagnosed chronic bronchitis and have had pnuemonia twice. Is all this hereditary ? Some women inherit genes from their parents that are more resistant to damage and cancer than others. Those whose genes do not provide as much protection against cancer are said to be genetically susceptible to the disease. Scientists have shown that some cancers (i.e., breast cancer) involve genes that are passed down from parents to their children, and the link between such genetic mutations and lung cancer is also becoming more probable. But the link to heredity has not been absolutely confirmed in lung cancer. Reviewing your genealogy, it might be. But also check the quality of air you breathe (as well as your family's). Your chronic bronchitis and two cases of pneumonia suggests you really need to take care of your lungs. It's not yet too late to start taking care of your health ;D It means that you should let your doctor know what you have found out. There is a very high chance you may get some kind of cancer. So that when you get sick and go in, he knows the history and can check for this instead of trying to guess about it. There is NO telling that you will actually get cancer, just the chances are higher than the average person. I'v got the same problem. my friend listen: the herediy exist but if u dont give the heredity the "fuel" to run , it doesnt run in you, so read about ( macrobiotic diet ) you have to see the other way of life, change your than your heredity will change with you, cancer has been found out to be hereditary so i would have this checked out every two years. |
