When you sleep on your side after not doing that for a long time for lumpectomy, can you get chest wall pain? |
If you have a lumpetomy and a port installed, can that cause some discomfort as you gradually go from sleeping on your back right after the operations to sleeping on your side? I had a mastectomy and port put in. It took several months before I could sleep comfortably again no matter how I slept. It felt like a weight had been sitting on my chest all night and it would take several minutes after getting up before the pain went away. It does get better but it will take a little time. I had a mastectomy and full reconstruction (the other side, partial to match). This was almost 2 years ago, and I still on occasion feel pain when I sleep on my side. I use a pillow to prop my breast and that helps alot. On the side that was unaffected (except for cosmetic), I sometimes feel a shift, but no pain. |
