Is my blood pressure too low? |
My blood pressure is 94 over 54. I am an eighteen year old male and am not overweight. I have experienced no symptoms usually associated with low blood pressure, but from time to time I become dizzy and experience temporary blurring of my vision when I stand up from a seated position. Is my low blood pressure the cause of this, and could it become a problem? Your bottom # is low, and that could very well be the cause of the symptoms you are experiencing. I would maybe ask a doctor or a nurse friend what they think. Especially if you are feeling faint ever. I wouldn't be too, too worried, but I would check it out. See a cardiologist. It is low; however at your age and weight, it is probably fine. Hi, Great question! if you have symptoms like diziness blurring of eyes you need medical care. yo ucan first try with lot of oral fluids, best with a little more salt than usual. if the bp remains the same and you have symptoms consult a Physician normal blood pressure for an adult male is systolic (top number) 100-140. diastolic (bottom number) 60-90. you are a tad bit low but nothing too worrisome. going from a lying or sitting position to standing and feeling lightheaded or dizzy is called being "orthostatic" which means your blood pressure drops when you get up. try getting up slower or sitting for a while when you go from a lying to standing position. are you on any meds? this could be the cause. |
