Low blood sugar.?

I dont want to have to eat every 3-4 hours but I get low blood sugar. I get dizzy and light headed if I go very long with out eating. How do you diet and lose weight if you have to eat every 3 hours. so If I eat hard candy or a spoonful of peanut butter will that help to keep my blood sugar elevated?
Thanks

If your blood sugar were low, you'd feel a little dizzy, your hands may shake a little and you'd have a queasy feeling in your stomach. Those feelings would get worse if you don't feed your body. At that point some sugar is OK, but what you're body really needs is a good hearty meal. Mainly carbs so it can do it's own conversion and bring your sugar up naturally. Now the food process takes longer to work so for a quick (about 20 minutes) hit to level things out get a glass full of orange juice and pour table sugar in the glass to at least one quarter, stir it up and drink it. I know it sounds like a lot of sugar but it's needed to process faster.
If you think it's low you can take your own reading with a good over the counter test kit. The normal range is 60 to 120. If you're in good health you won't notice much at the lower reading of 60. You may want to include some more fat in your diet. If you're eating lean meat switch to 80%. It has enough fat in it to convert to simple sugar and that should work for you. My bodybuilding diet is often very low fat and I've had readings in the 20's before I feel it....Someone who's a diabetic would be passed out at that point.
Remember the brain runs on sugar, if it's low it will trigger the feelings I've described.
Eating a candy bar when you think you're sugar is low is OK but it's not as fast acting as the o.j. you body still has to break it down to the simplest level before it used.
The best thing you can do is get a test kit, take it in the morning before you eat, then again two hours later just remember the ranges I've described.
The body is an amazing machine and will alert you if something isn't right inside.
Take care....if you want....keep me posted of your results.

It may not be what you want to hear, but if you eat every 3-4 hours, you'll actually speed up your metabolism and lose weight easier than if you wait 5 or 6 hours.
Also, most people don't get dizzy when they go 5 hours without eating. You may want to have your blood sugar tested at your doc's.

Just eat some healthy snacks between meals, like a handful of trail mix, a lowfat yogurt, an apple, or some air popped popcorn.

What I suggest is to eat 3x's a day! Regular size meals. Snacks in between. Snacks as much as you want/fruits/veggies/raisins/nuts/energy type foods/drink 4-8 oz.s of water/juice/milk/limit your intake on junk foods/soda/sweets/chips/limit your intake on meats too! Take your vitamins everyday! Exercise daily
