Low blood sugar-- is this normal?

Usually 2-3 hours after dinner I feel it dropping, big time. And a lot of the time first thing when I wake up in the morning it's really low. I don't have anything to check it with, but I can tell. I feel really sick and I HAVE to eat. Sometimes this even happens midday.

I haven't actually been diagnosed with low blood sugar, because I haven't gone to the doctors to get checked yet. But I don't see how that's not what it is.

It's been really bad lately, and I've been eating a lot more than I used to because of it. I'm hungry every couple of hours. And the other morning when I woke up I almost passed out and almost got sick, and got really shaky.

Is this normal?

I've been eating more over the past couple months, when it started getting really low. I've been hungrier more than usual.

I have failed to lose OR gain weight. It's stayed the same. I'm at a healthy weight for my age and height.

it sounds like ur giving urself to much insulin at night... decrease both types of insulin you would give urself by about a unit at night. this might help. see ur doc tho
hope this helps

You may want to get it checked but personally I go through this also. If you eat it should help it get back to normal. In the mornings I usually at least drink orange juice to keep it stable but eating breakfast would probably be better. If it drops right after you eat I would go see a doctor. Even if you are concerned I would go ahead and make an appointment. Diabetes is serious and you need to know if you have it as soon as possible.

go to the Doctor and get it checked . The symptoms for HIGH and LOW sugars are very similar and can be misleading .
You may be able to get a free meter from one of the companies that make them , but find out first. You may be better to buy a meter that uses the cheapest test strips .

at first it sounded like u had HYPERGLYCEMIA, but u say your bl drops low right after 2hrs of eating, that's not good.
if u r losing wieght but eating a lot u probably do have some form of diabetes, but i'm not a doc so get it checked b4 u have an extreme episode that could do great damage to u.
PLEASE! go check it out.
Until then, carry snacks around w/ u and sweet juices everywhere u go.

Some good answers there. As stated hyper and hypoglycemia symptoms can feel the same, so self diagnosing isn't a good idea. Go see your physician and have a fasting blood sugar taken and getting a glucometer to check your own blood sugars wouldnt be a bad idea.
