I have hypoglycemia, theres also hyperglycemia, my blood sugar drops, and I get very shaky and feel like im going to pass out, this can be,because Ive had too much sugar,or not enough,it is a medical condition, which can lead to diabetes,no medicine for it yet, must watch your diet. Good luck.

Yes, you heard him right. Sweating is a symptom.

You need to make sure to eat on a regular basis and avoid crash foods (high sugars, processed carbs). However, if you start to feel light headed, you want to get sugar quick. I'd recommend having juice or candy on you.

You need to be careful as your brain primarily uses glucose (sucrose, table sugar, equals fructose + glucose) for energy. Your brain can adapt to using ketone bodies instead but it requires quite a bit of time to do so.

What is Hypoglycemia?

Hypoglycemia refers to low blood sugar. Normally, the body maintains blood sugar levels within a narrow range through the coordinated effort of several glands and their hormones. If these control mechanisms are disrupted, hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) or diabetes (high blood sugar) may result.

Symptoms of hypoglycemia can range from mild to severe, including: headache; depression, anxiety, irritability, and other psychological disturbances; blurred vision; excessive sweating; mental confusion; incoherent speech; bizarre behavior; and convulsions.

The standard methods of diagnosing hypoglycemia, as well as diabetes, involve the measurement of blood glucose levels. The normal fasting blood glucose level is between 70 and 105 mg/dl. A fasting blood glucose measurement greater than 140 mg/dl on two separate occasions is diagnostic of diabetes. At levels below 50 mg/dl, the diagnosis is fasting hypoglycemia.

What causes Hypoglycemia?

Dietary carbohydrates play a central role in the cause, prevention, and treatment of hypoglycemia. Simple carbohydrates, or sugars, are quickly absorbed by the body, resulting in a rapid elevation in blood sugar level, stimulating a corresponding excessive elevation in serum insulin levels that then can lead to hypoglycemia.

What dietary factors are important in Hypoglycemia?

All simple, processed, and concentrated carbohydrates must be avoided. Virtually all of the vitamin and trace-mineral content has been removed from white sugar, white breads and pastries, and many breakfast cereals. When these refined carbohydrates are eaten, blood sugar levels rise quickly, producing a strain on blood sugar control. Eating foods high in simple sugars in any form-sucrose, honey, or maple syrup-is harmful to blood sugar control and can lead to hypoglycemia.

Another key recommendation is to avoid alcohol. Alcohol consumption severely stresses blood sugar control and is often a contributing factor to hypoglycemia. Alcohol induces reactive hypoglycemia by interfering with normal glucose utilization and increasing the secretion of insulin. The resultant drop in blood sugar produces a craving for food, particularly foods that quickly elevate blood sugar levels, as well as a craving for more alcohol. The increased sugar consumption aggravates the reactive hypoglycemia, particularly in the presence of more alcohol, again due to alcohol-induced impairment of normal glucose utilization and increased secretion of insulin.

Excessive sweating in primary hyperhidrosis has unknown etiology and tends to be localized. Excessive sweating in secondary hyperhidrosis has an underlying reason and generally affects the entire body. Conditions causing secondary hyperhidrosis are:

Hyperthyroidism
Infections
Malignancy
Autoimmune disorders
Obesity
Menopause
Diabetes
Psychiatric disorders

I'm sure if you cleaned up your diet, this too, shall resolve itself. Good Health to you!!!

Did he order any blood tests on you? What is his plan of action? If you are a diabetic with low blood sugar you can go into a diabetic coma. This is something that needs to be taken care of ASAP.

I don't know about websites, but the sweating is textbook. The symptoms of low blood sugar are 'wet, white, and wild' as in sweating, pallor, and confusion. When you exercise, you burn off your blood sugar, which in your case doesn't get replaced fast enough, so it drops, and you sweat a lot. Try some simple carbs before and during exercise to help keep your sugars at a good level.

www.webmd.com is a very resourceful web site, i too also have what called hypoglycemia (low blood sugar) if you feel that your heart is ready to pump out of your chest and you feel dizzy as you going to faint, and your body just doesn't feel right. drink some orange juice or eat an orange piece of fruit (natural sugars) then you must stabelize that with a proten piece of cheese, meat. these can happen any time of the day anywhere with out warning so best bet always be prepaired! bad news is that insurance companies will not supply you with a tester (diabetic) because it is not considered "non-controlled" so if you want a tester go to a drug store and pick one up for about $100.00. it is worth it. Just be carefull, a lot of people have this and is fine, just want to make sure it doesn't turn into diabetes, then your not in good shape! make sure you don't eat after 6pm or 3 hrs before you go to be, work our get good rest eat 6 SMALL meals a day, and you'll be fine.
