Seizures vs low blood sugar? |
need to know if anyone has seizures due to low blood sugar, wheather it was diagnosed by doc or if you personally feel this is the reason for your seizures...please tell me your experiences, your sugar level and the reaction from your doc...please let me know....thanks I haven't but my best friend has. We used to work together at Planet Hollywood in Orlando and one day we were working side by side and she started to have a seizure. this was the first time it ever happened to her. Our boss called 911 and an ambulance showed up. They tested her blood sugar and found that it was down to 31. The doctor at the hospital said it happened because she hadn't eaten in a while. A few years later we were at college together and in the middle of our graphic design class she had a seizure again, I fed her a candy bar because it was all I had and she started to come around. Now we all just make sure she eats normally so that her blood sugar doesn't drop. I seem to me more affected by repressed anger...Adrenaline with no where to go..... yes my son has had alot of seizures over the past 11yrs due to low blood sugars. the Dr warned us of them and trained us in what to do when this occurs. if you have any more question u can email me anytime. One of the symptoms of hypoglycemia is convulsions. my sugar get low if i take med & dont eat right away i feel sleepy i shake, get wet i could pass out,go into a coma but never go into seizures that has something to do with the brain check it out Yes I've had plenty of seizures from low blood sugars at first my Dr. thought they were from epilepsy then after quite q few trips to the hospital from them my bs would be 23 or below and the paramedics found it and reported it to my Dr. and he prescribed the glucagon shot for me to take to bring it back up . My Dr. reaction was at first he cared then i think he thought i might be faking it then he realized i couldn't help it and then cut back on my insulin you have to know I've had this for 33 years and have acid reflux and a lot of digestion trouble also its harder to eat if you have to eat with no teeth. had them all pulled! hope this is what you wanted to know good luck. i have a friend that is a diabetic..and she does not eat well at all..so we have plenty of trip to the er..sometimes i can get her out of them by giving her candy or a tube or 2 of glucose..they do remind you of epilepsy seizures but they are not...i have had her sugar go to 7 and survive the reaction she has also been in comas and come out of them....she has a angle..the doctors tried everything to get her to eat right..they are diabetic seizures....if your blood sugar drops to low then yes you are gonna have a seizure..... |
