Symptoms of low blood sugar?

i get low blood sugar a lot, and have came close to passing out several times in school. i start shaking, and feel dizzy, and major mood swings. anyways ive never passed out and dont want to, but i was just wondering, like what happens right before you faint. i would just like to know, so if it happens again, i can make sure i dont faint. like last time i started shaking, all that, and then when i stood up my legs felt REALLY weak, like they just wanted to give out on me, and i didnt even hear what was going on around me, i just kind of blocked everything else out, and i was just trying so hard to make it to class and sit down so i could eat something. and yeah from now on i definitely carry snacks with me in my purse, i was just looking for a few answers. i know you have to eat something to not pass out, but i was just wondering, and if you do pass out, do you have to go to the hospital or will you wake back up soon? im 16 btw

I have reative hypoglycemia, and get the low blood sugar thing often. Usually I get cold, chilled, slurred of speech, weak in the knees, hear high pitched noises in my ears, feel my legs give out, and I'm passed out.
You need to go to a doctor, and have a fasting blood sugar, and a glucose tolerance test done. That way, the doctor can rule out diabetes, and diagnose hypoglycemia. The treatment for them has similarities, but you need to rule out diabetes. Failure to do so could set you up for big time problems, soon, and later in life.
Meanwhile, carry some sugary food and some protein food in your purse, and eat it at the first sign, and follow it with a protein. The sugar will burn off quickly, and leave you worse off than you were before you ate the sugar.

If you are experiencing low blood sugar that often, you should consult your doctor about reducing the amount of insulin you are taking or making sure you are eating enough to cover the insulin that is on board.
