Can hypothroid cause low blood sugar if you screw up a dose? |
I usually have to wait 3 full hours after eating before I can take the meds or it won't have the full effect and I feel sick all day. It is physical and not mental. I have had the tests done and I am one of the 1% of the thyroid problems that have an opposite reaction to low thyroid. My adrenal system kicks when the thyroid is low and I get same day results from the meds. I have had to PROVE it to several Doctors. I made them create 6 regular synthroid pills and one fake and put them in identical capsules and place them in my pill tray. I was able to accurately tell them the day that I got the fake one. EVERY TIME. I actually lose weight if I stop taking the pills and can't eat or sleep because my stomach gets all knotted up and I get raging runs. no, but it can throw your thyroid out of whack, try to take it at the same time every day and have your doctor monitor your thyroid levels (full panel) to be sure you are on the right dosage of the right medication. I had to switch brands several times before my body could tolerate it and level out. I could not take synthroid or levoxyl. The Levoxyl made me nauseated and the Synthroid had to be combined with cytomel but it still did not level out. I am now on Armour and doing better. Keep in touch with your doc and don't be afraid to tell them if the meds are causing you discomfort. Somehow I think your effects are more psychological than physiological. |
