Question for Long Term Type 1 People.? |
I realize this will vary based on individual care, I was just wondering how many have had complications (of any kind) and how long you had Diabetes before they began to manifest. Also, do you consider yourself in good or poor control? Thank you! I've been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes for over 30 years. I have been very fortunate not to have any major complications. I started to develop cataracts after twenty years but not major enough for me to have surgery. I didn't even know I had them until I my opthalmologist told me. Controlling my Diabetes has always been sporatic. There are times I am more disciplined than others. It's always been easier to control my blood sugar by adjusting my insulin. I always believed that non-diabetics produced insulin to make up for what they eat and I've developed bad habbits and have become overweight. But over all, I feel fairly healthy. Here's a little different take on the subject of diabetes-- You can find some good information and home remedies at this website http://ailments.in/diabetes.html |
