Why am I sick all the time? |
I'm a registered nurse in a Long Term Care facility, so I wash my hands hundreds of times a day. I take vitamins. I take care of myself. I don't smoke. But I seem to catch every cold that comes along. What's wrong with my immune system, and is there anything else I can do? I'm liking Jared G's answer so far. your a nures and your asking us....those poor poor people on your care....please tell me where your facility is .i want to make sure i dont put my loved ones there........ Awww, lady. I dunno. I hope u dont get sick as much :( i had this problem to, once i started taking viamins and getting more vit. c i get sick less. but now that i said that i will now get sick. funny how the world works ehh Do you exercise ? I would have a Immunoglobin blood test to see if there are any abnormalities. My son was the same way and had to go on immune therapy treatments due to his test results. I would have a CBC also done to check your white blood counts. Good Luck! Take something that will boost your immune system Drink Orange Juice every day for breakfast, and get a meningitis shot. They do work. I got one, and everybody around me is sick, and I'm fine. Orange Juice really helps strenghten your immune system, and prevents illnesses, and has many vitamins for you. the following is somehat unorthodox but is worth considering: 1. in the far east, where chinese medicine is "popular", a basic theory is that your immune system is only as competent as your chi level allows it to be. in other words if your energy level is low your immune system is immediately compromised. 2.people with low energy automatically "take" energy from those around them whose energy level is higher. they don't do it intentionally, it happens automatically. so, assuming you are around "low energy" people at work, this energy loss is happening to you on a regular basis. how do you protect yourself from the loss? i would see an acupuncturist to get rebalanced energetically, to get some pointers on what books, etc. to study on point, and for other relevant tips regarding shielding yourself, etc. in the meantime take a look at the site http://www.sahajayoga.com if you work with it you will build up your energy reserves and gain other benefits, as well. btw, no matter what, keeping your energy/chi in good order is an absolute requirement for leading a long, healthy and happy life. why are kids always so happy--because they have abundant energy. low energy = depression and no fun. best of luck ;-) Yes, see this webpage on colds and flus. A government site says that winter is flu season but they do not know why. This site explains it. It is more a matter of sleep and diet. try not to get near people that have a cold or anything . i have the same prob but i still am fine because i do that and you could try go google things to help you .P.S good luck |
