Need healthy living tips.?

II was wondering if anyone knew of any good websites or books to encourage healthy eating? Or if you just have some tips? I've gained a few pounds in the past year, and it's affected my self esteem and such. I'd love to eat healthy, but it really isn't easy when living on such a tight budget. Healthy food seems to cost way more than the junky crap we seem to have in my apartment. Also, tips on some good exercises that I could do at home would be great. I've been saying for months that I'm going to go join a gym, but I just can't afford to do that. I really want to get myself, and my Fianc茅, healthy again. That, and I want to look great in a wedding dress. Good thing the wedding isn't until 2009 :)

Keep it fun. Turn on music and dance around the house, go for a walk, walk in place instead of sitting while watching TV. Take the stairs instead of the elevator, park farther away.

Eat a small green salad, without cheese, meat, croutons or other high calorie additions, or an apple, pear or some celery sticks along with a glass of water before each meal.

This gives you nutrition, fiber and decreases your appetite so you will eat smaller portions. Add low sodium soup to meals after the salad or apple etc and before the main course.

If you are willing to cook, you will find the healthy food is not that expensive, it just gets expensive if you are looking for healthier alternatives to instant and pre prepared foods,

This is a government website, which has excellent information such as healthy diet, exercise, and more.
