I am living with great depression. What should i do?

I used to be a happy guy with a lot of dreams until i was diagnosed with a Hepatitis B carieer (inactive status) at age 29 in 2004 during a blood donation drive abroad from my country Bangladesh. I probably got it from my parents as told by my Dr. Now i am living with great depression and now at age 32 i am still single and afraid to start a family although i wanted. Every 6 month after i need to check if everything ok and this creates lot of panick on me. I am also not well to do to treat myself if i am attacked by liver cancer and i beleive no insurer will be willing to cover me. Still I could not let my condition know to my mom and siblings thinking they will be panicked as well. I am mentally becoming weak being the only earning person for my family in abroad and i do not dare to disclose my condition to any of my friend. I am really confused, depressed and lost. Wish some of u advise how i can better persue my life.

You need to talk to your doctor and get a referral to a mental health professional. They can help with counselling, getting you in to Hepatitis Support Groups, and help figure out your insurance issues.

You need to seek support, if you can't go to family or friends, seek a counselor. Do not seek a counselor online, see someone face-to-face, you need to express your feelings and you can't do that with a keyboard.

Talk to your friends because they will be worried about you and want to do everything to look after you.

oh suck it up man

Go to a doctor I think you need to discuss your concerns with an expert not some retard on here

see a doctor or talk it over with ur best friend.

talk to a specialist

I highly recommend you to talk to a professional psychiatrist. I knew someone with conditions like your. psychiatrist helped him a lot!

I really don't even begin to know how you must feel, but I know sometimes talking with people that have things in common with you can help a great deal. I have listed a link to a forum that is a support group for individuals that are also suffering from the same condition, I am sure you will find answers, possibly make a friend or two and by sharing and being open that may ease a bit of your distress.

you still can be a very happy person. like you once were.i think you have developed a phobia judging by your question. you ha vent seen a doctor. please do this right away. there is no doubt in my mind you will make a speedy recovery. good luck.

Although you do run a risk of a problem in the future, I think that you are letting it run your life.

Many have had Hepatitis B. You don't have to tell many, but you can let yourself have a life.

There is medication for treatment. You may know this. See website: http://www.cumc.columbia.edu/dept/gi/hep...

No where on any site does it say you shouldn't be happy, get married or have a life.

My suggestion: seek medical attention for depression or anxiety. You sound like you have let it get you depressed. I really understand, I am a medical professional and I see people who are ill daily. But there is relief.

You feel like you have a secret that has ruined your life. Consider it is your perspective not your reality. Go to the doctor. Seek medication perhaps. And start to open up some. Hep B is not rare in Asia. You are not alone.

Remember that. You aren't alone...your family doesn't need to know. Just develop friends you can trust. You don't have to be so strong. You are loved even if you aren't perfect. No one is!!!!!

You really need to educate yourself on this disease. Talk to a hepatologist, or go online to the many different medical sites. Most people who live with a disease, it doesn't really matter which one, suffer great depression, because first of all, they don't feel good, second, they worry about their health, third, they worry about others and how they feel about the disease. Find a support group, there are many out there, then go get anti-depression meds. There is no reason for you to suffer when you don't have to. Good Luck. :)
