I am 18 living with chronic pain and nothing seems to help.?

I have been living for two years with severe chronic pain as a migrane, throbbing, sharp or stabbing sensation 24 7 to the face and perceptual weekness. So far test have concluded nothing but a diagnosis that i sevearly doubt of anxiety. I always have pain swallowing and I wake up to tenitis regularly. I have been perscribed tramadol, vallium, beta blockers, anti depressants and pregabalin. So far only pregabalin has had any beneficial effects. With three months till my next appointment on medication that barely makes a dent i am begining to fear that i will be stuck like this for years. On many nights it takes all my efforts not to just call an ambulance. I requested a refural to speciallist but just recieved a negative responce, without even being asked what specialist i would like to see. i.e Pain clinic, neurologist etc. Pain at its worst radiates down to chest and shoots through eyes. Does having to deal with pain ever get easyer to deal with?

Have you tried Lyrica, a new drug? Yes I am afraid that chronic pain is called chronic because it lasts a lifetime, however you have to keep trying various drugs: Valium, lyrica, in the right combination they can really make a difference. Do not give up! Good Luck

I had a friend who suffered like you with migraines for 20 years. No one could find a reason for her to have these. One day she woke up with lock jaw. She went to a dentist and he x-rayed her Jaw, and she had at some point in her childhood broke her jaw. She had bone fragments that were causing her headaches. Once she got that all fixed her headaches were gone. Something you might take a shot at. Sorry your hurting so bad and I wish I knew what to do for you.

i would think it would be something in your jaw as well.

what have you tried in the way of migraine meds? have you tried excedrine migraine? its the only thing that works for me, even better than perscription stuff.

Find a pain clinic in your area. Universities and hospital usually have one that is at low, or no cost to you.
I have a cervical spine injury so I know what it's like to be in pain all the time.

Good luck
