Could I really be getting liver spots at the age of 29?

I can see faint "liver spots"? on my hands. My mother is 48 and has more than a few and I'm not sure at what age she started seeing them show up. Is this a heriditary issue? Thanks I'm just curious.

Liver spots are flat brown-black spots that usually occur in sun-exposed areas of the body. Liver spots, also called age spots, lentigines or lentigos, are sharply defined, rounded, brown or black, flat patches of skin. The epidermis (top surface layer) is expanding with more pigment, developing what looks like a large freckle. One may appear by itself, or as a few clustered together. They are unrelated to the liver or liver function.
Many people have a hereditary predisposition to them. While liver spots may develop at an early age, even in childhood, they are more common in older people, especially those who have spent too much time in the sun.

Get on a good antioxidant combo daily and also take grapeseed extract 100-300 mg daily. Apply pycnogenol cream to the liver spots. A high potency multiple vitamin-mineral will also help as will a good essential fatty acid supplement daily. Good luck!

It would be very unlikely that you would be experiencing that at such a young age. There are creams for that though. AVON makes one that my mom uses and it's awesome how great it works.

Spending a lot of time in the sun without sunscreen will give you "spots" on your hand (and face). You could also be getting it from Mom. My mother and grandmother had them but I just got a couple and I'm 41. If they bother you, have a doctor check them. You can also try "Porcelana Fade Cream." I swear, it works. Get it at the drug store.

Yes, unfortunately. Grandma got 'em young, my mom got 'em young and I'm getting them young.

You can buy fading cream at the drug store or have them removed by a dermatologist.

Ain't heredity grand?
