What could cause spots on th liver ? |
My dear friends has Pancreitis , she also has spots on her pancreas and Liver . What may cause these spots ? Spots on the liver can be the first sign of liver cancers. So it is best if she gets a biopsy. these spots may be due to muscular atrophy or discoloration of the liver due to accumulation of bile salts and other toxic materials in the liver and pancreas. Does your friend drink alcoholic beverages? Usually acute pancreatitis is caused by alcoholism (and others). The spots on the liver could be a sign of cirrhoisis of the liver, or bile salt accumulation. Damage to the normal pancreas & liver caused these spots. Like scarring of skin, but on an organ. Sorry to hear about your friend. Spots are refered to small tumors of cancer.... My Mum was diagnosed with kidney cancer in May this year. When they found the cancer it had spread to the liver and lung. 3 'spots' in the liver and numerous 'spots' on the lungs... I was told by oncologists the only 'spots' that can travel thru the body are cancerous. benign tumors CANNOT SPREAD. But i am not a doctor i am only going by my personal experiences... she will need biopsies to dtermine what hey are. |
