When I was younger I had red spots on my hand/arm/foot that were caused by my liver, what are they called?

They were small red spots above a vein, if I pulled the skin they would disappear, my doctor said if I had over 6 I would need treatment. They were something to do with the liver and I'm pretty sure the word sounded something like 'spider' for some reason!

ive heard of liver spots and spider veins.... but it doesnt sound like thats either of them... maybe spider veins tho
