Red spot found on my liver....?

I had routine surgery last 2 wks ago (tubal) and my doctor found what she said was a red spot on my liver. I went for am ultrasound & now she wants to send me next week for a ct scan. I am meeting with her friday for my surgery recheck, but am a little nervous waiting to talk to her until then. Anybody been through anything similar or have any medical knowledge of what this might be? She did have a surgeon come in and look at it & he said he thought it was benign, but I am still a little worried. Also, my iron count was low at another appt this morning. Don't know if that has anything to do with anything.

It sounds to me, a RN, that you are in the best of hands in your PMD, having already run all the appropriate tests and ordered scans, AND she has already talked it over with a colleague who is a surgeon. The liver does a LOT of jobs that have to do with blood, along with the spleen, and it may have something to do with your anemia. Don't worry til it's time. You really sound like you are in good hands.
Stay off the net, too, unless you have a confirmed diagnosis to work with or you will make yourself sick and worried unnecessarily.
