What does a spot on the liver indicate?

Someone told you that and didn't elaborate? Was it the CT tech that told you that or your doctor? I would call your doctor and get more info.

It's not uncommon to a cyst on the liver so maybe thats what it is.

It could be a lot of things but three come to mind:

Bad - Fatty liver - you are eating poorly and your liver is not able to deal with the fat and your liver start to become pate. It eventually leads to:

Worse - cirrhosis of the liver which can be caused alcohol or by unchecked fatty liver.

Worst - Liver Cancer. My sister died of cancer a few years ago. They were always checking to make sure that it hadn't spread to her liver (she eventually died of leukemia). Liver Cancer is extremely serious and you should talk to a doctor right away.

Actually talk to your doctor right away anyway. All of these diseases need to be addressed as soon as possible.
