Small brown spots on top of hand? |
My mum has these spots on the top of her hands, how can these be gotten rid of and what causes this? Someone said its the liver???? They`re referred to as liver spots, but they are probably age spots. I work with the elderly and a lot of the old folk have them. there`re like freckles. leprosy Liver spots it could be, they are basically something people get when getting on a bit. It is literally a collection of the chemical that changes the skin colour when you're getting a tan. Build up of this in the skin can produce the so called "liver spots". These can be faded away by laser. consult a cosmotologist...there are creams that can fade them. They are called liver spots but are simply a sign of ageing. Look in the chemist and you can buy creams that fade the spots - Fade away is the name of one xx there called liver spots mainly due to to much sun exposure my mam has loads on her hands too and im getting them there nothing dangerous unless they become lumpy then go get them checked out xx These are called liver spots and are usually found in the elderly. Yep - Sounds like liver spots. Liver spots, that usually affect older people. As it's just part of the ageing process i doubt whether anything can be done to remove them Those brown spots you are talking about are called age spots, when we get to a certain age we, tend to see them appear out of nowhere. Tell your Mom to be careful when near a stove when she is cooking because when turning over meat when browning it, usually splatters some oil out of the pan and for some reason they always land on the hand and that creates another brown spot that will never disappear. I know because that has been happening to me quite frequently. Some people have told me that there is some cream that you can buy over the counter that would diminish them, and you would not feel self conscious about it. But if you think it's the liver suggest to your Mom to go see a Doctor for your peace of mind. The spots on your mom's hand are called lentigines and result from sun damage exposure. Unlike freckles they tend to persist for long periods and don't disappear in the winter (though they may fade). Commonly known as age spots or liver spots (and this has nothing to do with liver disease), the correct term for a single lesion is benign solar lentigo (plural lentigines). Lentigines can be faded with careful sun protection with broad spectrum sunscreen daily, and regular applications of anti-aging creams containing hydroquinone, or antioxidants such as: alpha hydroxy acids, vitamin-C, retinoids, and azelaic acid. However, they can be removed more effectively by chemical peels, cryotherapy or certain pigment lasers. They are called liver spots , but they are not associated with the liver, its due to age nothing to worry about. they are called liver spots but theyre down to ageing and you cannot get rid |
