My aunt has liver disease. will she die from it? |
i dont know what type of liver disease.. but its really bad. its from alcohol. is it fatal? any info would help. thanks. It's hard to say; if she is still drinking, then it will most likely progress. If she is having symptoms of end stage liver disease (ESLD), then there is little that can be done unless she can document she has abstained from alcohol for at least 6 months. If that is the case, then she may be eligible for a liver transplant. Best wishes. It doesn't have to be. The liver is the only organ in the body that regenerates itself (not overnight) Is she willing to give up/cut way back on her alcohol consumption? There is a supplement called Milk Thistle, available over the counter, that helps to cleans the liver of toxins |
