What is ALT Liver Test reading mean? IS 10/50UL with a 115 READING Itoo high?

ALT of course is an enzyme. It is measured to see the amount in the liver and kidneys, yes?
Will medications for Cholesterol Lowering cause ALT to be altered / rise? Is this indicative of liver disease, etc?
Is 50 a high reading?
Our Doctor is not good with follow-ups or opinions. A blood work / report arrives in the mail and that is usually all we get.....WE function in the dark here, and always have question that go unanswered.

Until proven otherwise , either alcohol or meds are damaging liver.
ALT high; I'd guess probably alcohol is involved.

Cholesterol lowering meds can have an affect on LFTs such as ALT. A high reading may indicate there may be a problem with the liver however one would have to run more specific tests becuse they are not very reliable. A person with a reading of 50ul may not necessary have a better liver than a peron with 250ul because the person with thte higher readiing may have had their blood drawn on a day when their body was fighting an infection, pain or inflammation. The reading you gave seems alright
