Do you ever get pain in your liver after a few drinks? |
I am 27 years old male, I do drink but not excessively. Probably just slightly over the recommended 21 units a week although I did have a few mad binges when I was younger. PS the liver pains are only usually just there when I drink a stronger drink then lager, like wine or spirits. Is it possible that it is just my liver working hard to break down the alcohol and that is it? Yeah, you might seriously want to consider cutting back on your alcohol consumption...and if you can, perhaps give yourself a break from alcohol altogether for a period of time. stop drinking you're obviously killing yourself I've not experienced it myself, but regardless of what people may say on here your health is FAR too important to seek advice from complete strangers. Please visit your GP I would say your body is giving you signs to stop the drinking mate. Im 23 and binge drank every weekend since i was 15 last year on holiday i woke up every morning with aches in my sides. It scared me a bit so i have stopped drinking and all the pain has gone. I didnt go to the doctor but i know the best bet was for me to stop drinking. Even if you cut down or have a weekend a month off for your body to recover a bit. When you say it's liver pain,it could be that the pain is referred pain ie it could be from your stomach or pancreas. yes i used to get them with vodka, i didn't drink in the week just when i went out at wkends, but i must say i was a binge drinker when i did drink. I think it's a way of your body saying chill out before it's to late, now i don't touch a drop of alcohol. calm down a few weeks!! lol, you shouldn't drink Are you sure it's your Liver for starters? It does sound as though you need to change your social habits. I drank nightly for 29 years and each time, I got myself real drunk on whiskey or beer. One day I just decided to stop and I never missed it. It has been 5 years and I still don't miss it. That tells me one thing, you can live with out it too. had the problem mate i just used to take a aspirin n plenty of water but if it Carry's on bud see a doc not worth taking the risk I am an recovering drug addict and have been clean 3 yrs going into4 in feb.... I have had that pain (and in lower back ) for years!! Are you sure the pain is coming from your liver and not another organ. Could it be your gall bladder for example, that is a severe pain that comes and goes with anything that produces bile. gall bladder pain is like a cramp more to the right and around the back of the ribs, but can sometimes feel all around the stomach. Take a look at this page, it gives you symptoms of liver damage and how to find where you would get pain if it is your liver. Hi,you can get a liver test done at the doctors, having said that i,m in bed with a hangover and have pains in my sides, and all i drank was wine,so you are better off getting it checked out.good luck. The pain is possibly associated with gall bladder not liver. Also, stomach, duodenum or other upper intestinal tissue can cause pain in the upper right abdominal quadrant. |
