What are the best health remedies for cirrhosis of the liver?

liver transplant

There is no real cure for a damaged liver but the liver can heal itself a little if given a chance. The most important thing to do is try to give the liver less work. This means NO alcohol, not even sherry in trifle or in liqueur chocolates and a very low fat diet.

You might also want to consider Liver DTX Complex. A botanical blend that promotes liver health. Plant-based healers such as milk thistle seed extract, dandelion, and turmeric help flush out toxins, thwart free radicals, and support liver regeneration.

Hope this is useful and feel free to contact me for the website.

Ok here goes...
When I used to live in Texas as a child, and back in the early 80s, my dad was suffering with that same condition. Sadly, he was an avid alcohol drinker and smoker. Cirrhosis is caused by many things, but the leading cause is known to be alcoholism. His health became nearly fatal, as every doctor we approached told us that he had only months to live.
Quit alcohol and cigarettes. These, especially cigs, kill you, whether u have liver cirrhosis or not, but to someone suffering from this condition, it is a death wish.
If Western doctors give up, try Eastern medicine. Being born of Korean decent, our family returned to S. Korea to seek traditional eastern medicine. Some of the treatments, such as bear gallbladders, are powerful medicine that can either be a wonderous elixir (as in my father's case) or a poison (I hear it is fatal for cirrhosis caused by certain hepatitis viruses).

My dad ended up living for 13 more healthy years in Korea. There's a sad end to this story. Due to stress and problems, my dad picked up drinking and smoking again, which led to his untimely death shortly thereafter.

There were no known cure for this condition back then, and to my knowlege, there is no way to reverse the effects of liver cirrhosis even today. Only thing you can do is stop the things that make it worse. I hope this helps.

The liver does heal itself to some degree. However, cirrhosis is usually a progressive disease, especially if it is due to Hepatitis B or C, or any of the hereditary liver disorders like primary biliary cirrhosis. If you want to avoid worsening the cirrhosis, avoid all alcohol, stop smoking, and avoid drugs that are metabolized in the liver, such as acetaminophen (Tylenol), lipid lowering agents (like Lipitor), etc.. Eat a low sodium nutritious diet. Unfortunately, cirrhosis means that some of the liiver tissue has been replaced by scar tissue, and the damage once done, is not reversable. The only cure for cirrhosis beyond a certain stage is a liver transplant.
There are no herbal, natural or otherwise remedies which will cure cirrhosis. Bears being poached for gallbladders for medicine is one reason why most bear species in Asia have been wiped out. (It's why bears in the US are being poached)
Your doctor may prescribe lactulose, or something similar to keep your normal metabolism from poisoning your body (your liver normally filters out such toxins, but this is impaired in cirrhosis) Take your medications and eat a high protein diet to keep your strength up. Good luck!

According to 3 world class oncologists 1. stop drinking 2. detox your system 3. major diet and lifestyle change 4 increase your fluid intake pure water take your body weight divide by 1/2 drink that many ounces of water and nothing else a day for life 5 increase your intracellular glutathione level with immunocal platinum available from immunotec research or the cellular health foundation and you stand a very good chance of surviving or as a last option should you choose not to do the above 6 a liver transplant hope this helps Gorbalizer
