Liver Cancer? |
My sister just had a CT scan and was told they found a spot on her liver. Does this mean cancer? not necessarily,, There are other liver disorders that can show up as spots on a CT scan besides cancer. Not all are life threatening. It is best to wait for the doctor's diagnosis before becoming too concerned. The important thing to remeber is that even if it is cancer - there are some new and very effective treatments. My cousin was recently declared "cancer free" after battling liver and colon cancer for two years. It is possible to beat this disease! NO, so please don't think the worst, I went through that w/ my father and it was very heart wrenching watching him suffer. Try and be as positive as u can. It is possible the spot is a liver cyst which is a very common benign finding on CT scans. Your sister might need an ultrasound, MRI or further testing, but she is still a long ways from being diagnosed with liver cancer. Did they biopsy it? That would be the easiest way to tell. Could be. The spot, might be cancer, but doctors even though they know, are afraid to say something they are not sure of. This is because of malpractice cases. So, they say, it "could" be. But, there are only a couple of things it could be. It could be cancer. And then what? Ask the doctor what else it could be. If it is cancer, then try this. |
