Mother has liver cancer?

Recently my Mother was told that she has Liver cancer. She has jaundice very badly and it has caused her skin to appear orange and the whites of her eyes are yellow...She also has Hep C and I am not clear on if they can operate on her if she has this condition? I guess what i would like to know is what the common causes of liver cancer are? thank you for your time.

Also,she had an MRI in may and it didn't show any masses and then she just had surgery 2 weeks ago for her gall bladder and a liver biopsy, after the mri results came in they seen the mass and scheduled her for another biopsy on monday and found out it was cancerous....will she be around for a while still? or is she fading fast considering the mass has grown so large in 3 months and she has severe Jaundice? I have never been through this before and don't know what to expect???

Liver cancer can be caused by a very wide variety of things.
You need to find out of it is Primary liver cancer, or Secondary liver cancer.

Sometimes if there is cancer somewhere else in the body, it can end up in the liver.

The liver's job is to filter the blood. So, if there is cancer in the body, it could eventually end up in the liver.

Hep C, Jaundice, and Cirrhosis of the Liver are all possible causes of Primary liver cancer.

Have they checked for cancer in other parts of the body?

I beleive that Hep C left untreated can cause liver cancer, probably so can drinking and smoking. I think some cancer's happen for no reason though. My Aunt got ovarian cancer and we have absolutely no idea why. My best friends sister got lung cancer and she never smoked, and we also have no idea why that happened. There may not always be clearly defined answers as to why.

My dad too, although his came from the colon first which is different but common. I think Hepatitis could have been the cause. don't trust any diagnosis though, there are other types of tumors in the liver too. Good luck.

I have a friend who has liver cancer. He is getting chemotherapy for it. He has to get stablized and he has a possibility of getting a liver transplant. There is a long waiting list for this. He does not have Hep C.

Hepatitis C is definitively linked with liver cancer.

My brother had hep C and liver cancer, and had very aggressive medical treatment that vastly prolonged his life.

Where are you located? University of Pittsburgh is probably the hands-down favorite for liver transplant and liver cancer treatment, IMO. Brian Carr, MD is brilliant, and worth a cross-country commute.

if you buy cesium chloride with rubidium and dmso it might help. It is sold by nutrition2000. Its a website you should look up. Might be able to cure your mom. Just try it. I tried to get a couple of bottles, but I was too late for my friends who had liver cancer. Dont waste time in getting your mom cesium chloride.
