Liver Cancer "Level"?

My grandma goes with my grandad to the doctor but never gets the details exactly right. She says they have found liver cancer and it is "54." What does the 54 mean? Is this a cancer / tumor level?

It probably is, the doctor should have explain it to her... what kinda of doctor is that!!!
