Prevention for liver cancer?

Well, a very dear friend of mine has liver cancer, and I want to help prevent it from getting worse. What treatments should he do? What foods/activities should he avoid?

My friend's 14 years old, and he's not into alcohol.

Definitely avoid drinking alcohol other than that I don't know.
Update: Ouch thought it was someone older. Follow the doctors instructions as far as diet goes. Do whatever they feel up to doing probably nothing too strenuous I imagine they probably tire easily.
