My mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer 2 weeks ago. It has also spread to her liver. How bad is it?

She had surgery last week to remove the bowel cancer, which was 90% covering her bowel. The surgery was a success, but now there are also secondary cancers in her liver. At the moment the doctor can say there are 3 lumps in the liver, but he says there may be more they dont know about.
Mum has to start chemo in a few weeks.
Can someone please tell me the best and worst case scenario for secondary liver cancer.
Any advice would also be appreciated. Thanks.

Best Case is that she will go through one round of treatment. Which may include hair falling out, days of extreme fatigue, and sickness. And the cancer goes away.

Worst case is that she goes through all of that and the cancer spreads. And I do not have to tell you what the end result will be.

I have some info I would like you to look at that may aid her in her treatment. Please consider all avenues before it is too late to help her. I totally believe in it and have seen it work in other people with Stage 4 cancer.

You are in my prayers and I hope that all turns out well for you.

I am not a doc and dont know much about cancer, but i do no that when it gets to your liver, its pretty much a lost cause!! sorry to say that but i have known 2 ppl that got cancer of the liver and only lived for a further 6 months. its pretty much uncontrollable. i am really sorry for the bas news!

First of all bowel and liver cancer go hand in hand with each other, so if you have bowel cancer you will also have liver spots. Did you know you can have the infected part of your liver cut away?, as its the only organ in your body that will grow back. My brother in law chose to go this way instead of chemo and is doing very well, with no sign of cancer any where. chemo is very harsh on the body so is she sure she wants to go down this path?.

i am sorry and sad to hear about your mom, currently there are no cure for cancer. chemotherapy is not a cure but it kills cancer cells as well as normal cells too as a result after the therapy she will lost here apatite. just be strong and pray for miracle who knows....i'm sorry....
