Do you anyone who survived bone or liver cancer?

If so what stage were they in? And what was their treatment? And how long ago did it happen? My mom was just diagnosed with both bone and liver cancer. The doctor sounded optimistic saying "absolutely" after my mom asked if there was treatment.

Many, many cancer patients are surviving and living longer, that statistic just got higher this week. Many new treatments are out there, with the help of great and caring Doctors and Researchers.Every patient and treatment options are not the same for everyone, many different factors will have to be considered.Have faith and trust in the Doctors will play a vital role with recovery. I wish you & your Mom all the best. SW RNP

It unlikely your mother has both bone and liver cancer. Most likely your mother has cancer metastisis from some other area spread to the liver and bone. The liver and bone are common metastasis sights. This would mean stage IV cancer.

The long term prognosis is not good. However, people have achieved remissions.

I don't know the details of your mother's case but, my guess is treatment will compromise of mostly chemotherapy. Surgery is unlikely due to the number of metastases. Anti-angiogenesis drugs such as Avastin may be used. Biphosphonates may be used to prevent worsing bone lesions.
