I had a torn ligament in my left wrist and had surgery five months ago and still have problems is this normal?

it was two and a half years ago the injury happened . it has been five months now and in physio for four months and i still have pain and swelling in my wrist and pulsating pain from my elbow to my wrist right two my to small fingers with numbness it feel s like my hand is not there and i have no muscle in my arm and no strength i had more before surgery i dont know what to do.

sounds like a serious inflamation problem, with possible preasure being exurted on the nerve clusters along the arm (which will cause lose of strength and cause pain). See about getting some strong anti-inflamitories and give it a few weeks. also see your personal doctor and ask her/him about this situation.

somethign similar is happening to me, although the cause is probably somewhat different.. i have an RSI from ice hockey i've aparently broken my wrist (micro/hairline fractures supposedly) almost two dozen times in the span of 6 years. The tendons are putting preasure on the nerve clusters causing lack of strength and sometimes inflamation. the above information was from my doctor on wrist and forearm damage and recovery. she also stated that at best 6 months should be given for major changes to be noticed from surgery.
