Go swimming, and watch what you eat. You need cardio, and since your knee is not in the greatest condition I would say go swimming in a near by pool or lake, do loads of crunches, and sit-ups... and do a few leg lifts... Find a bun and thigh work out vid and use that to tone your lower body... As far as eating watch what you eat and don't diet... Eat loads of salads and cut out everything fatty, meaty, and especially salty and sweet... Proportion your meals... It's a hard journey but it'll pay off... And last but not least don't give up... Motivation is key... if you don't have motivation, it's going to be a bumpy ride.

Are you Cute ?

drink: water
take: diet pills
eat: nothing

Oprah had a fruit/vegetable diet program on her show that might be what you want to try. You need to do NON-impact workouts which may mean finding a pool. The knee may need a whole month to heal. A backpack would give you the means to carry your proper diet and you can eat between classes or take little 5 minute study breaks. The extra energy will help you to accomplish much more in less times, though the bathroom needs to be very close by due to the high fiber.
PS Only weigh yourself once a week with the same amount of clothes or none and at the same time of day, before breakfast.

Check out her website and this was on about a week ago, so it should still be current. Concentrate on the diet and let your body heal by not pushing it with little exercise that will not help other than keeping your injury from fully healing. Best wishes.

when I had to loose weith fast, I started the folloeing diet and it worked really fast:

Morning: I slice of whole wheat bread with fat free cream cheese, lots of tea (no sugar)
Lunch: 6oz of chicken, fish or meat (6oz it's a very small portion) and a healthy salad (no dressing, just lemon or vinegar, salt and pepper) No condiments in the meat eighter, just healthy ones like pepper, lemon, garlic, parsley, cilantro etc.
Snack : 1 Orange, or apple,(no bananas, grape)
Dinner : Same as lunch.
You can also substitute the bread for low calorie cereal.

I know this diet sounds boring, but it isn't, just try it, it will work, I lost 6 pounds on the first week.

Besides water, you should drink lots of helthy teas, like the chinese do, it really helps you feel fuller, it clenses your body and it helps your digestion.
