Sporting injury?

After a sporting injury when I damaged my knee ligaments and chipped a bone, I stopped playing contact sport for a good while. I felt asif my knee was almost as good as before and that the slight weakness would strengthen when playing contact sport again. I twisted my knee but did not damaged it as bad as before and stopped playing for a few weeks. I went back to sport and twisted it pretty bad again and it cracked and everything. I'm leaving out sport for another few months and then am going to consider going back to sport. Is this a good idea or do you reckon I will damage my knee again? I am worried about long term damage :( Thanks.

I like sport so I suppose I was eager to get back to playing it, but if i want to play without hurting my knee again I will try and be patient. Thanks

What I would suggest is ask a sports trainer. There is one at this site who work with injuries and answers questions like yours. You might want to check it out and its free to ask.

You need to let it heal fully, then start working out w/o the contact sports, you need to strengthen it again or you will injure it again ... this will take at least a month or 2 to heal and another several months to strengthen ... don't rush it ...

good luck!

No xray vision here but sounds like you should go see a sport doc for your injury. Sounds like some cartilage has gotten loose in there with all the popping. You will need an MRI to be able to see. Go see the Doc.
