Is it wrong to keep someone alive on life support? |
Is it wrong to keep someone alive on life support? I think it depends on the situation, if the patient is declared brain dead then yes it is, as they will not recover from this and another patient who needs the life support could be helped Thats a very good question It probably depend on the patient's age medical history & family wishes there are so many variables that its hard to answer that........... Very hard decission , sometimes they come good and other times not: I wouldn't say its wrong , but sometimes u have to let them rest in peace. It depends on what the person would want. If they would not want to live depending on life support, then it is wrong. depends. I believe if the patient is brain dead life support should be removed and hoepfully the family will sign off to let the organs be donated. but i heard of a case where this one woman who is in a coma wakes up once every few years then slips back. I don't think she should be removed from life support. My father was on life support for several days. He was, of course, still ill when he came off life support but he did recover. The life support gave his body the "rest" it needed to heal. I think that a person shouldn't be kept on life support unless there is a possibility of the health getting better. Let people die. It is a hard fact that we want to keep loved ones around as long as possible. However don't let it be a memory of the person being sick. If I'm not going to EVER recover, harvest my organs to save someone else and PULL THE PLUG. If I'm going make it possible for others may stay . |
