Under what conditions would you want your life support removed?

Under what conditions would you want your life support removed?

If somebody cut my hair like Terri Schiavo.

When I can get the F out of the bed and say, "Let's go home!"

If I was brain dead. I don't care if I can be kept alive with machines if I'm really not alive & living life and talking to my loved ones. I don't want to just be lying there, rotting, being kept alive for no reason. Not fair to my daughter, not fair to whomever has to pay for it, not fair to the sick (but alive) person who needs the hospital bed.
Pull the plug & let me go & check out the next life.

If I don't have a decent QUALITY of life, then I do not want to live....I guess quality is different for everybody. For me it means being able to enjoy my family and daughter, still enjoy a good laugh or a good cry, aware of my surroundings, etc....

If the only chance of waking up and recovering would include being paralyzed, deformed, or a vegetable.

if i was on it for longer than say a month and a half or so and not showing any signs of getting better. don't really want to lay in a bed with no life in me and have a machine do what my body shud do. thats not life

I think missgoddessrachel said it best! I feel the same way, if I'm brain dead, a complete vegetable, etc. then pull the plug as I don't want to be a burden to anyone in my family. Why have them pay all that money to keep me alive artificially, it's just not right!

I really think that decision should not be left up to me. It is my wife that will really have to live with the ramifications of that decision. I think the decision should be hers to make.

It is personal...but most people choose certified brain death to be the criteria.
