Do you always need some support in your life specially when you are a kid growing up? |
i have never had support in my life since my mother died when i was 10, always was very insecure, got no love, could this be the reason for my emotional problems. i have been hurt in relationships too, because i always expected the care and unconditional motherly love from the other person, maybe becuase i never got it when i was growing up, iam 20 now and i really need to get rid of these emotional problems. Do you have any suggestions? I have been hurt a lot in my life by everyone my father, family, friends almost everyone. i prefer to be alone. I was raised by a single, alcoholic schizophrenic mother. I had NO support and had to support my 2 younger sisters plus take care of my mom since I was 10. I got myself through high school and college WHILE working full time to support my mom and sisters. We were on welfare and had nothing. My sisters and I shared all our clothes. I am now an award winning teacher, my youngest sister is a research scientist/world champion kick boxer and the middle sister makes a 6 figure income as an insurance exec. We are all happily married with families. We did ALL on our own, you can do it too. If you want to wallow, then wallow. If you want to succeed, then SUCCEED. Do not use your life as an excuse, just do it. YOU are the only support you need and if you try, you will see that others are supporting you too. If you lay around and do nothing, NOBODY will support you. Good luck sweetie, nobody ever said life was going to be easy, but it can be worthwhile if you want it to be. I am sorry to hear about your mom, I think that we do need some support growing up, I myself go vary little. I am 31 I have a few good friends and most of them I meet after I was 21. Most of them I will lose contact with for a while but they are always there in the end. If you really want to be alone and you don't like it then go out, the park, library, to eat, see a movie, for a walk. Some times being around people even people you don't know can make you fell better. Good Luck u could try writing in a diary, express urself through poems, try talking to other family members u trust, or even think about seeing a psychologist. |
