Im 17 & i live on my own. i support myself and cant afford a car or phone. does life get easier?

Im stressed all the time. My aunt & uncle kicked me out a couple of months ago and life just seems too hard. I cant find a decent car for under $800 and i have about $300 to live off of. I cant get a phone or anything like that because Im not "of age". I just want to know what to do =/

I was kicked out at 17 too. Its hard! but be strong and work as much as possible. Get rides from whoever you can and remember that it'll pass soon. The worst thing you can do is dwell on your problems. Sort them out one by one. Just get a roof over your head and food, thats most important! As much as it sucks, everything happens for a reason, Good luck!

find someone to share your space and half the expenses. if she threw you out you must have been doing something she didnt like.

mayb try living with a friend. hopefully one that won't charge u room and board. =) keep looking around for cars...there's bound to b one that's cheap.

best of luck to u, and i'm sorrri about what happened.

might help if we knew why you were not living with your parents and why you got kicked out. your online, so you can not be that broke..

get a room mate...

you are a teenager, so go to a home or shelter for teenagers.

it depends on your definition of easier. we all have worries whether your are rich or poor, just try to hang with it and do your best to remain upbeat

You're too young to be worrying about so much. I advise you go shack up with a good friend and their family -- preferrably a female. Friends tend to be a little more reliable in situations like these; if you try the same method with a boyfriend, however, things can get even worse from there (I think you know what I mean).

Apply for food stamps and any other financial assistance you can. This may free up some cash so that you can get a car. Is it absolutely necessary to have a car? If not, take public transport or walk. Don't buy fast food. Think of it this way, how many hours will you have to work in order to pay for that Big Mac?

See if you can find a roomate.

Did you graduate High School? If so, that is one step in the right direction. Your next step would be to start taking some classes at the community college. Start off with the English and Maths, to get it out of the way. Apply for financial aid at the college.

Is does get easier, but I am afraid it will get harder before it gets easier. Hang in there, you have no place to go but up.

I won't lie to you and say that life gets easier, but I think we learn how to handle things better. I'm sorry life is tough for you right now. The older you get, the more doors will open up for you. The choices you make right now are crucial, so be sure to make good ones. Only buy the "necessities," (toilet paper, ramen noodles, stuff like that) and look for a moped or cheap motorcycle instead of a car. They get better gas mileage, anyway. Find a church that you like so people can pray for you. Have you applied for food stamps and help from the government? Hang in there, sweetie. You can do it.

i think you should go to dr. phil your aunt and uncle should get in trouble for throwing you out your a minor

Hi Lacey, I want to tell you that yes, life will get easier but that's totally up to you and decisions you make.

I think at this point in your life, while you are short of money it would be best to try to find someone to share expenses with, or perhaps you could find a home where you can pay room and board, hopefully with meals included so you don't have to try to go out to eat.

You ask about buying a car.

Understand that buying a car is only a start to the expense of having a vehicle, you still have to insure it, buy gas and then pay for all the repairs. These expenses add up to quite a high bill each month.........oh and there may be parking expenses as well.

If you can get by without a car you are much better off, assuming you can use transit to get where you need to go.

It's not easy starting out, as you've come to realize, but be patient, for most of us it gets easier.

Perhaps your Aunt and Uncle will reconsider and let you come back........don't be shy about asking, specially if you want to complete school, which is in your best interest for the future.

Good luck to you.
