ok i have lice..ew i know..but does anyone one know how long they can last once hatched?...i have the lil eggs & not a very bad case of it ..but how long can they live? go buy some lice shampoo and kill them all Use tee tree oil in your shampoo not a matter of how long they live for... their eggs grow and have eggs and so on sorry sweetie.. I dont know how long they can live..but I know how to get rid of them... go to your wal mart NOW... go to the medical section..where you find the bandaids..and the ace bandages... and look for a lice comb... you brush out all those eggs... sometimes there is a lice killing shampoo also... go look for those asap... you can get both of these together today for under 10.00's... I hope that helps you get rid of them.. I wouldn't let them continue to live in your hair... Buy some RID shampoo and be sure you use it, all the time. Put some into your washer, as well. You can't get rid of the lice until the eggs are gone DEAD. The eggs take 2 weeks to hatch. Keep up the RID, until you know you have combed all the eggs out. Wash your sheets, pillow case, your clothing, your towels, everything in RID. There are other things you can use, but this is the cheapest, fastest way that I found. lice love clean hair... so dont feel dirty.... those little buggers can live forever.. you have to get rid of them or it will get worse.... you can go to the store and get the rid solution or a home remedy that works is caking your hair with mayo and putting a plastic bag around your hair for 8 hours. the mayo suffocates the bugs and the eggs and the plastic bag keeps the heat in... those things can hold their breath for ever thats why 8 hours is needed... after 8 hours use dawn dish soap to cut the grease right out of your hair..ha I kill me sometimes. use the shampoo, wash all your blankets, pillows, everthing that isnt stapled down. and make sure you put them in the DRYER. the heat kills them. put all stuffed animals in a air tight bag for a few weeks. spray your bed and furniture. K,Dont panic! Its easy to get ,not so easy to get rid of.Call your doctor he canprescribe you a shampoo.You can buy R.I.D over the counter but ive had to use it on my kids it doesnt work that great.Most important sfter shampooing, Have someone use a nit comb on your hair.Because the shampoo usually doesnt kill eggs.And believe me they are hard to get them all.You usually need help.redo the shampooo in 14 days to make sure ya got em all. Ok listen, my daughter just had lice by contracting it through a daycare facility. A) They do not jump so don't believe what other people tell you. I got rid of them by putting mayonaisse in her hair and letting it sit for 2 hours. Put a lot in your hair going through each part. Especiallly behind the ears and back of head. Then you wash it out with your normal shampoo and conditioner. Buy a nit comb and comb through your hair to get the little nits out. It's easier to get them out if you also wash your hair with half vinegar and half rubbing alcohol. The reason being is nits have little glue that stick to your hair that's why they stay there after you wash them. Good luck. u have to treat them they will just lay more eggs otherwise and they will spread to anyone who gets close to u at home, shares a hair brush ect.... Yes, get rid of tehm. To do a good job and make sure they don't come back you will also need to wash all clothes and bedding in hot water. Put all stuffed toys in plastic bags and tie shut and leave that way for a few weeks. Use a product with pyrethrins and spray couch and chairs and car. If you don't do a good job they will return. Lice are not just something dirty people get as you know. Anyone can get them and if you have children in school you will get them one time or another chances are. You can buy Rid or Nix or call your doctor for a prescription strength. If you don't mind you can also use something from the pet aisle and it's sometimes cheaper. Look at the Nix and Rid and you will see the same ingredients in the pet section. Usually pyrethrins or permethrin. You must be sure to remove all nits(eggs) as this will lead to re-infestation. Mayonaisse is not an approved way of getting rid of lice and according to a site I just checked it will not. There needs to be an insecticide it says. I have never fooled around myself trying this and that. I have always called the doctor or if wanting to use rid or nix I go to the pet section and buy the same for less.Now I just found a site that says mayo does work and sometimes works best on lice who have become resistant. Being one who has to know what's right I just called my pharmacist and asked him. He says he has heard it can work but that children will not be allowed back in school in this state anyhow unless they have used one of the preparations made for it. I guess I'll go with what he says. they can only live 3 days without a host. Otherwise unless killed the live forever!! If you need help getting rid of 'em email me and i can help! I just got fir of mine so.. Get some lice killing shampoo then make sure you comb out all the eggs (nits) some people use babyoil instead of the shampoo. The washing everything & spray lice killing spray on stuff u can't wash. Repeat these steps again if they come back. gross EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW... i think they live for a long time, they can jump far, and you should get rid of them quick!!! Don't know how long they last but unless you get rid of them quick you will end up with loads! You need to wash your hair and use loads of conditioner then go through it with a nit comb. Then use a nit comb twice a day until there are none left. Don't bother with expensive shampoos and mousses, nit combs are cheap and the most effective. try peppermint shampoo, it works I THINK lol jk |

First of all make sure you are using the treatments on everybody in the house. Make sure when treating the home such as the couch, carpet, mattress, treat the cars as well. I am asuming you have s... another way is wash your hair and then condition it coz they dont like conditioner and while the conditioner is on your hair get the nit comb and keep combing them out it may take a couple of goes ... reapply the rid, it has medication in it that actually kills the lice and the eggs. Treat the house whatever your sister uses, combs, brushes, bed, sheets, even the chairs she may sit in. Lysol wil... Treat your hair again in 7 days to be sure that no remaining eggs will hatch. Some lice are so small that they are really difficult to see, Your scalp was probably just irritated by the products y... Say omg i saw a bug in your hair! act liek u think she may have jsut caught it MAybe she knows she has lice but its just embarassed about it.Either way she shouldnt be leaning on you when lice are... the girl if u two r in school..she is not allowed to be there! Maybe its just dandruff or dried up hair spray or gel??? Don't judge ppl!!!! If u see her scartching her head A LOT...ALOT...A LO... ive never tried this but they say it works you can buy a shower cap and put mayoniase all over your hear, you have to cover everything scalp, ends, every bit of hair because the vinegar suffoca... Lice is very small but very noticeable on the scalp. A thorough exam of the scalp by pulling the hair back will show any black specks that may be in her hair- especially check the back of the neck ... |
